Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis started the serious study of the discipline of Statistics in India. He made fundamental and lasting contributions to its development and application. He founded the Indian Statistical Institute with the aim of teaching and research in Statistics and allied subjects. The Institute is commemorating his 125th Birth Anniversary in 2017-18.
On this occasion, a conference in Statistics and Probability is being organized at the Kolkata campus of the Institute, to be held on January 2-4, 2018. We hope you will consider joining us in these celebrations and participate in this conference.
