Magic squares are well-known for its very interesting and entertaining combinatorics. We present a new method for constructing magic squares of odd order. A technique for obtaining two orthogonal latin squares of odd orders is provided. These latin squares are used for constructing the magic squares. The method has been shaped in form of an algorithm that is very convenient for writing a computer program for constructing such squares. The methods have been illustrated through some examples. Finally, some results on magic rectangles is given.
