In this talk, we will discuss the first and second de Rham cohomology groups of the nilpotent orbits in real simple classical Lie algebras which are non-complex and non-compact. First, we will briefly outline a convenient description of the first and second cohomology groups of a general homogeneous space of a connected Lie group. Then we will use this to compute the first and second cohomology groups of the nilpotent orbits.
