Title: Probabilistic aspects of the Navier-Stokes Equations
Abstract of Talk
It is generally accepted in the scientific community that progress in statistical theory of Navier-Stokes equations will shed light in to the understanding of turbulence in fluid dynamics. A number of advances have been made in addressing probabilistic aspects of (stochastic) Navier-Stokes equations in the past years including martingale solutions, invariant measures & ergodicity, Malliavin calculus, nonlinear filtering, stochastic control and large deviations. In this talk we touch upon some of the topics and indicate some open problems.
