Title:
Thue inequalities
Abstract of Talk
Let $F(X,Y)\in \mathbb Z[X,Y] $ be an irreducible binary form of
degree $\geq 3$ and $m$ a given positive integer. In a most original
paper, Thue (1909) showed that an equation of the form
$$F(x,y)=m$$
has only finitely many solutions. Since then several work has been done on
the above equation and also on the inequality
$$|F(x,y)| \leq m.$$
In this talk we shall mention some conjectures regarding the Thue
inequality and some recent progress.
