Title: Ramanujan's Theta Functions and Modular Equations with Applications to Partitions
Abstract of Talk
Certain modular equations and theta function identities of Ramanujan imply beautiful partition identities. In this talk, we will discuss Farkas-Kra-type partition identities deducible from Ramanujan's modular equations and some results on $t$-cores arising from his theta functions, where a partition is called a $t$-core if it has no hook numbers that are multiples of $t$. We will also discuss a new proof of Ramanujan's so-called ``Most Beautiful Identity.''
