Manch The 2nd day of the
conference (February 12, 2011) will be organized at Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi Centre Well-known landmarks near Indian
Statistical Institute (ISI) are the following. One, Qutab Hotel, which is
located to the right of ISI, separated by a ravine. The other is Katwaria
Sarai, which is the name of the locality where ISI is located. Delhi has one international airport
and there are three main train stations: (1) Old Delhi, (2) New Delhi, and
(3) Hazrat Nizamuddin. In almost all state run road transportation, the last
stop is going to be (4) ISBT or (5) Sarai Kale Khan. There are bus routes from each of
the entry points are given below. At some of these points there are `pre-paid
auto' counters apart from the airport, which has `pre-paid taxi' counters.
While booking an auto or taxi to ISI, mention the destination as Qutab Hotel
or Katwaria Sarai. After reaching near Qutab hotel or Katwaria Sarai check
out the location of ISI. From Airport: If you
are taking a flight to Delhi, as you come out of the Airport, just outside
the terminal building you will find a `prepaid taxi counter. Book a taxi for
Katwaria Sarai. Remember that you should pay only at the counter and not to
the driver. They will give you a piece of paper which you have to hand over
to the driver only after you are satisfied that you have reached your
destination. If you are arriving by taxi, then after reaching Katwaria Sarai,
check out the location of ISI. Delhi station: Prepaid
Auto Stand exists. Taxis Available. There are no direct buses from Delhi
Station to ISI. (a) From outside the station take bus no. 502 to Adhchini.
From Adhchini bus nos. 605/618/664/680/511/546 come to Katwaria Sarai which
is about 1.25 Km away. Alternatively, (b) Take an auto or cycle Rickshaw to
Mori Gate Terminal. And form there catch bus no. 605 which comes directly to
Katwaria Sarai. New Delhi Station: Prepaid
Auto Stand exists. Taxis Available. There are pre-paid auto counters on both
sides of the station, but you will find pre-paid taxis only on the Ajmeri
gate side. There are no direct buses from New Delhi station to ISI. Come out
of the station on Ajmeri Gate side, and walk to Kamala Market. From there
catch bus no. 505 to Adhchini. From Adhchini bus nos. 605/618/664/680/511/546
come to Katwaria Sarai. Hazrat Nizamuddin: Prepaid
Auto Stand exists. Taxis Available. There are no direct buses from Hazrat
Nizamuddin to ISI. From outside the station you can get Bus Nos. 413/427 and
get down at PTS stop (Malaviya Nagar). From there take an auto to Katwaria
Sarai, which will cost approximately Rs. 80/-. ISBT: Auto and Taxis
Available. There are no direct buses from ISBT to ISI. Walk or take a cycle
Rickshaw to Mori Gate Terminal. And from there catch bus no. 605 which comes
directly to Katwaria Sarai. Sarai Kale Khan: Auto and
Taxis Available. There are no direct buses from Sarai Kale Khan to ISI.
However, from there you can get many buses for AIIMS (or Medical). An auto
from AIIMS to ISI will cost around Rs. 70/-. Or you can get bus nos. 605/618
to Katwaria Sarai. |
