Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assisting with various aspects of the research process, including data collection, analysis, and administrative tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in academic research within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Period of Appointment: 12 months starting from 1st November 2025

Responsibilities of the Position:

• Conduct literature reviews, assist in experimental design, and contribute to research methodology development.
• Collect, organize, and analyze research data using appropriate statistical and computational techniques.
• Develop and maintain software tools, scripts, or algorithms to support research projects.
• Work closely with team members to ensure seamless coordination and communication during the research process.
• Assist in writing research papers, reports, or grant proposals
• Assist in organizing workshops/conferences and other administrative tasks as required.

Background and Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Economics/Statistics/Development Studies/Computer Science or any other related field
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in research: In particular, High Proficiency in STATA; Passable knowledge of R, Python, Arc GIS desirable
• Proficiency in extracting and handling large datasets is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in conducting literature reviews and synthesizing research findings.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and meet project deadlines.
• Willingness to learn new concepts, methodologies, and technologies relevant to the research domain, as well as the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements.
