Country Administrator, India Sustainable Growth Hub (ISGH)

Job Type: Full-time, contractual (Up to January 2027, with possibility of renewal)

Job Description

In collaboration with the International Growth Centre (IGC), based at the London School of Economics (LSE), the Centre for Research on the Economics of Climate, Food, Energy and Environment (CECFEE), based at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is launching the India Sustainable Growth Hub (ISGH). The ISGH aims to produce and translate cutting-edge, applied, and policy-relevant economic research from top scholars in India and globally into actionable insights that inform and support sustainable growth strategies in India.

The Country Administrator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of ISGH operations. Working closely with the programme leadership team—including the Programme Directors, Lead Academics, Managing Director, and Country Economists, the administrator will be responsible for coordinating ISGH’s academic, policy, and operational activities, and maintaining effective communication with the IGC Hub.

Key Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of the Country Administrator will include (but not be limited to):

Operations & Administration:

  • Oversee daily administrative operations of the ISGH office.
  • Support procurement, logistics, budgeting, invoicing, and financial tracking.
  • Assist in the management of contracts, MoUs, and documentation with researchers, partners, and vendors.
  • Assist in the creation of and maintenance of a database of contacts for use by the ISGH Team, CECFEE, ISI and IGC Hub, including but not limited to those in the government, business, and civil society sectors.

Project & Event Support:

  • Assist in organising meetings, workshops, events, and conferences. Take the lead on all logistical support, including coordinating communications, invitations, press releases, and other related tasks.
  • Handle logistics for visiting researchers, including travel and accommodation.
  • Manage team calendars and support scheduling of internal and external engagements.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Serve as a key liaison between the ISGH team and the IGC Hub on administrative matters.
  • Ensure timely submission of project deliverables, reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Responsible for ensuring implementation of effective ISGH branding, in all forms of communication, interpersonal interaction, and publications generated locally, in alignment with the ISI and the IGC Hub’s branding policy.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Contribute to the preparation of progress and financial reports.
  • Manage and track expenditures and support financial forecasting and budget reviews.
  • Support programme monitoring and evaluation by maintaining records and documentation of activities.

Essential Qualifications & Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in administration or programme management, preferably in research, academic, or development organization.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google workspace, and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to handle social media such as X, LinkedIn, and other sources of online dissemination
  • Experience with workshops organization, creating posters for online webinars, and e-mail dissemination of events.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, procurement, and grant management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and a collaborative working style.

Salary Range: ₹10–12.5 lakhs per annum (consolidated)

Reporting To: ISGH Managing Director
