Postdoctoral Research Associate – BEE

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assisting with various aspects of the research process, including analysis and statistical modelling, report writing, co-ordination and administrative tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on large scale data modelling experience and developing new statistical methods within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Gather, organize, analyze and model large national level survey data using appropriate statistical and computational techniques.
  • Develop statistical methodology to handle non-responses and missing data.
  • Develop Machine Learning based model with GIS based tools.
  • Implement and maintain statistical software tools, scripts, or algorithms to support research projects.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure seamless coordination and communication during the research process.
  • Writing research papers, reports, or grant proposals.
  • Assist in organizing workshops/conferences and other administrative tasks as required.

Background and Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Statistics, Data-science or related field with specialization in theory and applications of survey sampling.
  • Experience of developing statistical imputation methodology for missing data.
  • Strong quantitative research skills with experience in data analysis and statistical software (such as R, Python etc.).
  • Independent and skill of writing technical reports, research proposals, and scientific papers.
  • Proficiency in extracting and handling large datasets is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn new concepts, methodologies, and technologies relevant to the research domain, as well as the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements.
