πŸ“Œ ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Join us for an intensive, three-day workshop designed to seamlessly integrate theoretical foundations with practical, applied demonstrations and hands-on tutorials.

πŸŽ“ WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • This workshop is ideal for PhD students, postdocs, and advanced master’s students with a background in Statistics or Data Science.

  • Class size is capped at a maximum of 20 students. A screening procedure will be used.

πŸ“‹ PREREQUISITES & REQUIREMENTS

  • Participants must have completed introductory courses in Probability and Statistics.

  • Some prior programming experience, specifically with familiarity in R or Python.

  • A personal laptop is required for the afternoon tutorial sessions.

πŸ•’ DAILY SCHEDULE

  • 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: The morning session features 1.5 hours of theoretical background and 1.5 hours of applied demonstrations.

  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: There will be a lunch break during this time.

  • 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: The afternoon session is dedicated time for participants to work out practical in-class tutorials.

πŸ“š TENTATIVE TOPICS

  • Day 1: Penalized least squares and lasso.

  • Day 2: Introduction to Bayesian Inference.

  • Day 3: Bayesian computation and Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC), featuring illustrations using Stan.
