Shoibal is currently a senior researcher at Divecha Centre for Climate Change at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. His research interest is in energy and climate policy, energy-economics modelling and modelling uncertainty in energy-climate models. He was formerly a Research Associate at the Princeton Environmental Institute, Princeton University. Shoibal obtained his PhD in Physics from Princeton University in 2005.
