Finance and Admin Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Finance and Assistant Admin to support our team at CECFEE, ISI, Delhi.

Position Type: Contractual

Start date: Immediate

Location: Centre for research on the Economics of Climate, Food, Energy & Environment (CECFEE), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Delhi

Finance Duties:

  • Bookkeeping and budget management
  • Assist in preparation of budgets, and financial reports
  • Ensure knowledge of and compliance with financial regulations
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors

Admin Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to management and staff
  • Coordinate meetings and events
  • Manage inventory & maintain organized records
  • Oversee management of the web page

Background and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a finance or administrative role, preferably in a research or academic environment
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

    Senior Finance Consultant, Junior Finance Consultant, and IT Support Consultant

    Position Type: Short-Term Contractual

    We are seeking skilled individuals to join our team for a donor funded project. Reporting to the Centre’s Accounts section, IT section and working closely with the donor, these positions will play a crucial role in ensuring financial management and IT support for the project’s success.

    Senior Finance Consultant

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage day-to-day financial operations in compliance with donor requirements
    • Prepare detailed financial reports and budgets for project activities
    • Collaborate with the Centre’s Accounts section for accurate financial recording and reporting
    • Assist in audits and ensure adherence to financial regulations and policies

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
    • Experience in financial management, preferably in donor-funded projects
    • Strong understanding of financial regulations, reporting standards and compliance

      Junior Finance Consultant

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Support the Senior Finance Consultant in financial management tasks
      • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
      • Work closely with the Centre’s Accounts section for timely financial transactions
      • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

      IT Support Consultant

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for project-related IT systems
      • Collaborate with the Centre’s IT department to ensure smooth operation of IT infrastructure

Hiring Research Assistant

Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team for a donor funded project focused on the comprehensive analysis of multiple datasets such as the National Family Health Survey (NFHS), Comprehensive National Nutrition Survey (CNNS), Annual Health Survey (AHS), Rapid Survey on Children (RSOC), National Nutrition Monitoring Bureau (NNMB), and an initial survey of all nutrition and micronutrient-related research in India published in peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in evaluating the representation of data at different geographic levels (national, state, district, etc.), ensuring data quality, harmonizing diverse datasets, and conducting comprehensive evidence assessments.

Responsibilities of the Position

    • Map the representation of data from various sources, assessing its granularity at different geographic levels (national, state, district, etc.).
    • Conduct unit-level analysis of datasets to derive insights and patterns relevant to specific geographic units.
    • Assess data quality, identifying inconsistencies, errors, or missing information in datasets.
    • Collaborate with the research team to harmonize diverse datasets, ensuring compatibility and consistency for analysis purposes.
    • Conduct evidence assessments, evaluating the robustness and reliability of data sources and evidence used in research.
    • Develop methodologies and frameworks for data mapping, quality assessment, and evidence evaluation.
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations related to data representation, quality, and evidence assessment.

Hiring a Visiting Assistant Professor

Role: We are is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor with a PhD in Economics to join the team at the Indian Statistical Institute, New Delhi, India.
