Speakers

This four day workshop will be held on Dec 6,7,9,10 2013 at Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore Centre. There will be two mini courses in this workshop which are as follows:

• Ergodicity of diffusions and controlled diffusions by Vivek Borkar.
  
  Abstract:
  
  The talks will discuss ergodicity of difusion processes with or without control in the broader context of ergodicity of Markov processes. A reasonably complete treatment of the non-degenerate case will be given and the various issues for the degenerate case, both known and open, will be touched upon. Notes are available here.
  
  
• Nonsingular Group Actions, Finitely Generated Abelian Groups and Stable Random Fields by Parthanil Roy.
  
  Abstract:
  
  These lectures will discuss how various probabilistic properties of a stationary symmetric stable random field are determined by the ergodic structure of the underlying group action and its rank as a finitely generated abelian group.
