eduroam (for more details: check this link) is a global service that enables ISID users to obtain Internet connectivity when visiting other eduroam enabled institutions by simply opening their laptop or activating their smartphone or other portable device through Wi-Fi.
With eduroam, you get Internet access when visiting other eduroam enabled universities, colleges, research centres and libraries.
This facility would enable users to get authenticated and connected to the visiting institutions network using ISID ID and password. It also enables visitors from other eduroam enabled institutions visiting ISID to access Internet using their home institute ID and password.
How to use “eduroam” services
- If you are an ISID user and not registered in single sign-on eduroam access, please follow below instruction to register.
Go to the Website https://isid.ac.in and download Single Sign-On CC-Access Form.
a. Write an e-mail from your official e-mail account id[at]isid[dot]ac[dot]in to e-mail id: ccsupport[at]isid[dot]ac[dot]in with your details like: Name, Roll No., Unit. Based on details received, Computer Centre will send an e-mail to you after successful creation of your Single Sign-On eduroam access ID with details. - NOTE: If you are a visitor/guest faculty, then you have to submit Single Sign-One CC-Access Form approved by Head of respective Unit/Department.
- When visiting any other eduroam enabled institute, connect to eduroam SSID and use userid[at]isid[dot]ac[dot]in as “username” and “registered ID password” as a password.
Unauthorized Access
Do not share your username and password with anyone. If you receive a phone call or an email message requesting such information please report the incident to the IT Help Desk.
