Web Hosting

Web hosting is a service that allows individuals (Faculty and Staff) to post a web page or web profile hosted on our web server onto the Internet. We provides the technologies and services to individuals (Faculty and Staff) needed for their webpage or web profile to be viewed in the Internet. Webpages / Web profiles are hosted, or stored, on our In-house servers. When Internet users want to view your web profile, all they need to do is type your web address or to access link under our domain into their browser. Their computer will then connect to our server and your webpages will be delivered to them through the browser.

FTP Access

The use of FTP lets you upload files from your local computer to our web server. If you build your webpage/web profile using your own HTML, PHP files etc., you can transfer the files from your computer to the web server through FTP, allowing your webpage to be accessed through the internet.

NOTE:

If you decide to create your webpage to be hosted on our Website, you can get your web profile created on our server by submitting a written request to Computer Centre. Based on approval, Computer Centre will create a web account for you and will share the details with you accordingly.

Once web account is craeted and detailed shared to you, then you have to build your webpage using own code using your preferred coding language. Computer Centre will not be responsible to build your webapge through coding or a CMS tool like WordPress etc.
