Women & Work Projects

The overarching objectives of these projects led by Prof. Farzana Afridi, are to rigorously analyse the constraints that women face while engaging in remunerative economic activities with special focus on the emerging digital platforms. They suggest new policy measures while also evaluating existing programmes that aim at unleashing women’s economic potential fully in India. They delve deeper into the role of skilling in enhancing women’s labour market participation and the presence of gender differences in job search behaviours. The projects build on existing research and generate new evidence to inform and facilitate the agenda of women’s economic empowerment.
